Enugu Debuts in Top 1000 Startup Cities; Ranks 978th in the Global Ranking

For the first time in history, Enugu made it to the global ranking of startup cities in the recently released StartupBlink Ecosystem Index Report 2021.

As reported by technext.ng, the Global Startup Ecosystem Index is built using hundreds of thousands of data points processed by an algorithm that takes into account several dozens of parameters including the number of startups, the size of the domestic market, the ease of doing business amongst others.

This is a huge testament to the milestones that can be reached when government policies meets the efforts of key stakeholders in the tech sector.

This, of course, aligns with the vision of the Office of the SA to the Enugu State Governor on Innovation, Science and Technology to make Enugu State the best place in Africa for business and innovation.

This journey of collaboration has only begun with the Tech Stakeholders Roundtable as captured in this report by www.techeconomy.ng (https://techeconomy.ng/2021/06/agenda-setting-stakeholders-meet-over-enugu-tech-innovation-strategy/).

Together with the players in the sector, Engr. Elvis Obi-Nwankwo, the Special Assistant on Innovations, Science And Technology and the ever-dutiful Commissioner for Science and Technology, Sir Obi Carl Kama, will continue to keep the science and technology space in the state constantly busy with the right policies, conducive environment and activities necessary to rejuvenate the sector in Enugu State.

Recall that Enugu State just last month, came first in the concluded i-Fair Tech Innovations Program, having four of her youths come out best among all other States in Nigeria with the best Proof of Concept. These landslide victories has positioned the Coal City in the prided list of startup, tech-driven cities in Nigeria and beyond, a very big plus to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who has contributed immensely to this recent developments through human capital investment, improvement in the ease of doing business and good governance in the State.

With these recent achievements, Enugu really is in the hands of God
