A yet to be identified middle-aged suicide bomber has at 11:30am this morning, Tuesday, 25h May 2021 blown to pieces when a suicide vest he was wearing exploded on his body opposite the campus 2 of Amaizu/Amangbala Primary school, in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to a source who claimed anonymity, the bomber first made an attempt at entering Amaizu/ Amangballa Primary School but was turned back by the school security since he couldn’t justify his reason for visiting. He then ran inside a nearby bush where a big bang was heard, leaving people at nearby places scampering for safety. It was when the scattered crowd reconvened at the scene of the incident few minutes after that they discovered the suspected suicide bomber laying dead in the pool of his own blood.
The resident who noted that the incident happened close to the Eke Market Afikpo which is said to be the biggest market in the area hinted that there is tension and panic in the community.It was gathered that the upper part of the suspected suicide bomber’s body was completely destroyed from the impact of the bomb.
Meanwhile, all efforts to get the reactions of the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Loverth Odah and the State Commissioner for Internal Security, Boarder Peace and Conflict Resolutions Chief Stanley Emegha proved abortive as they are yet to pick the many calls placed across to them.
