Awgu Local Government, one of the 17 local governments in Enugu State, today, the 25th of May, 2021 passed a unanimous vote of confidence on their Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Enugu State Governor.
According to them in the meeting made up of the who’s and what’s in the local government, the governor has been more than exceptional in steering the State activities.
Below is a communique issued at the end of the meeting:

Background
Rising from an extended stakeholders meeting of Awgu local government on the position of her leaders and the good people of Awgu local government on the government of Enugu state under the leadership of excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Held today the 24th day of May 2021 at the council Headquarters, Awgu. The people and her leaders deliberated and unanimously resolved as follows:
1. That our leaders and we the people of Awgu Local Government appreciate and commend His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the developments witnessed in Enugu state in the last six years of this administration, particularly Awvu Local Government Area. The leaders and the entire people of Awgu are unanimous in our resolve to use this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State for his numerous peoples oriented projects in Enugu State, particularly the ones that favors Awgu LGA. These projects include but not limited to the appointment of two commissioners from Awgu, the construction/building of ultra-modern Customary and Magistrates Courts buildings and the renovation of the High Court of Justice complex together with the shared premises of the three courts in Awgu LG headquarters; the construction of Ogbaku – Owelle Court Road, the ongoing renovation works on Awgu General Hospital and the Basic School of Midwifery Awgu, Siting and the ongoing construction of Enugu State University of Education Ihe town in Awgu Local Government Area, Rehabilitation of Mmaku Cottage Hospital Awgu LGA. and a host of other peoples oriented projects. We are not oblivious of the Governor’s life-changing and transformational projects in other parts of the state and for these, we are unanimous in echoing that His Excellency has kept his promise to the people of Awgu and Enugu State.
2. The leadership and we the good people of Awgu local government Area, reaffirm our unflinching, unwavering and unalloyed support, solidarity and loyalty to the Enugu State government ably led by His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Governor Enugu State. We hereby state in clear and unambiguous terms that, our loyalty and solidarity to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburus) is TOTAL and ABSOLUTE.
3. That the leaders, and we the good people of Awgu LGA are satisfied and indeed very grateful to His Excellency for the good working relationships His Excellency maintains with elected representatives and political appointees from Awgu Local Government Area and the gratifying reports from these our leaders to the effect that His Excellency loves Awgu and desires to do more to move Awgu higher than he met us. .
4. That in view of the harmonious working relationship of His Excellency with the political leaders from Awgu LGA, the enviable performance and towering pedigree of His Excellency in Enugu State in general and Awgu in particular, we the leaders and the good people of Awgu Local Government Council have resolved today to pass a VOTE OF CONFIDENCE on His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu).for His Excellency’s peaceful disposition has indeed brought enduring peace and unity in Enugu State.
5. That our leaders and we the people of Awgu Local Government have unanimously resolved to queue behind His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the highest political leader of the State and to continue to look up to him for directions. These are in affirmation of our loyalty to his leadership.
While thanking the Governor for living up to his promises to the people, onc more, we reaffirm our support to him as the highest political leader in Enugu state as at today, as such our loyalty is intact.
